Awards

Hanover Arc, Inc. is seeking nominations for awards to honor an instructional aide, a teacher and a student in Hanover County Public Schools. The Special Aide Award, recognizes an aide who excels in his/her performance with students who have intellectual disabilities/mental retardation (ID/MR). The Raby Recognition Reward for Students recognizes a Hanover Co. Public Schools student with ID/MR with who has made exceptional progress. The Raby Recognition Reward for Teachers, honors a teacher of students with ID/MR in Hanover Co. Public Schools who excels in his/her performance.

Award winners receive a cash prize; student - $100; aide - $200; and teacher $300. Winners will be recognized at a school board meeting and a plaque in the Hanover Co. School Board building lists winners. The Raby Awards were established in honor of Martha Raby’s work for children in Hanover County Public Schools. All three of the awards were established by Anne, Charlotte and the late Garnett Nelson of Montpelier, VA.
